Alfafar has a typical semi-dry Mediterranean climate, with little rainfall, and with cool winters and hot summers. The main festivities in Alfafar are celebrated at the end of August and beginning of September, coinciding with the rice harvest. In Valencia and in its province the most celebrated of festivals is that of San Jose celebrated on the 19th of March, known as the “Fallas”, where huge paper mache statues in the city, are set on fire.
The most outstanding tourist attraction of Alfafar is the Albufera of Valencia, a natural lake connected to the sea and considered one of the most important wetland areas in Spain. There are plenty of indigenous fauna and flora in the Albufera. "La Albufera" (the Lagoon), Natural Park, is one of the most important areas of the Mediterranean. Its location hosts great diversity of natural habitats, an extensive lagoon, a beach, dunes, marshlands and the flooded plain that goes down from the interior towards the sea. This protected area is home to more than 250 species of birds. To arrive at the park you need to take the motorway of El Saler (kilometer 13,5) and then taking the turning to El Palmar. If you prefer tranquility, Valencia also has several beaches and not far from the city. Once you have seen all that Alfafar has to offer, take a trip to Valencia capital, there is the Museo de Bellas Artes, the Cathedral and the Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas and much more worth visiting. To the south of Alfafar on the coast you find Town of Denia and the City of Benidorm.
